What is Children's Services of Hampton Roads Children's Services of Hampton Roads is a specialized Foster Care program for children and teenagers whose behavior or physical needs cannot be managed in their own home. We provide the help these children need to learn more appropriate behaviors and to provide stability to their lives. There are many reasons children have been separated from their families: Physical Abuse, Family Violence, Child neglect, health and Financial problems, Inadequate Parenting, or Sexual Abuse. Specialized Foster Parents...What do they do
Specialized Foster Parents are trained foster parents who: - use the Children's Services of Hampton Roads program to teach children self-control, responsibility, independent living skills, and communication
- provide appropriate and safe parenting to the foster children in their homes
- provide a loving and stable home in which the child can learn to be a kid, form proper attachments and feel safe
- help social services and the foster child permanently reunite with their biological family when it is appropriate for reunification
Who Are the Foster Children Children Services of Hampton Road's foster children are boys and girls between birth and age seventeen years who: - are below grade level in school
- have a hard time making friends
- have difficulty forming proper attachments and understanding proper boundaries
- struggle with being raised by abusive parents
- may be experiencing physical, mental and/or emotional disturbances and are in need of a structured home environment
