 Carpe Diem of Virginia, Inc., which trades as Children's Services of Hampton Roads, is a private licensed child-placing agency that provides community-based, family-focused Treatment Foster Care and In-Home services. Services are provided to children, youth, and families throughout Virginia. Carpe Diem was founded and established by John C. Faircloth, who serves as the company's Chairman of the Board and John's son, Eliot Faircloth serves as the Chief Executive Officer. Carpe Diem of Virginia, Inc. was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia on September 2, 1992. The company was first licensed to provide Treatment Foster Care services in February 1993 and later became licensed to provide In-Home services in May 1995. Treatment Foster Care services are currently provided to male and female children and youth ages birth to twenty-one (21). Services provided and foster homes available meet all state requirements for Treatment Foster Care and comply with Minimum Standards for Licensed Private Child-Placing Agencies. The Treatment Foster Care Program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. Carpe Diem is also a certified Medicaid provider for Therapeutic Foster Care Case Management. Family-Focused In-Home services provide wrap-around services to youth, families, parents, and caregivers for the prevention of out-of-home placements. This program is licensed by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services as a provider of mental health services. Carpe Diem is also a certified Medicaid provider for Intensive In-Home Mental Health services.
